What is excel templates?
An excel template is a type of excel file which is used as a basis for creating excel documents, providing a content and its structure. It is the basis for a document and it also contains formatting. So there are two main definitions, the template is about the structure of the document and the content of that document then afterward you can apply a theme to that document or any other document. Excel template is like a pre-document with the necessary format and points you need only to fill with your own data. Therefore, using and creating template make it easy to write a file obtaining all the standards and prescriptions for definite form of document and for any task; and it also helps you to save a lot of time. In its turn the template include following clauses: contents, formatting, structure, formulas and toolbar.
Types of excel template
There are a lot of templates available online which you can fine, download and use them after. Some templates are acceptable offline in Microsoft Office Excel and as an alternative you are able to create your own excel templates which later you will commonly use anytime.
The amount of excel templates can be divided into several common groups of templates. Among them are business templates, calendars and schedules, personal templates, lists, educational templates, annual templates, magazines.
Using of excel templates
In order to find and use excel template on your computer, please, follow presented instructions in this chapter.
First opened the program on creating excel documents. In Microsoft Office Excel click on <File>, then click on <New> and you will see Excel has different templates, which can be used for different purposes. You can click on searching line and find any template from the internet, select template you want and click on it. The template opens on a new workbook and you will be able to create a document file according to the specific template you choose. It does not allow to make any changes to template, you can only full fill it with your information.
Creating an excel template
If you want to make any changes to the template or create your own specific excel template, you need to opened excel file on your computer containing the template and change it or create a template on workbook and then save it as a template.
To make changes to the template at first you need to download it on your computer. Then open your system disk, click on <User>, click on <AppData>, <Roaming>, <Microsoft>, <Templates> and open needed file with the template. After opening, you can make any changing in template structure and save it.
To create new template, open new workbook in Excel, make changes to the blank workbook and save it. To save as a template, click <File>, < Save as> and create new excel file and save as type as ‘’Excel Template’’ and click on <Save>. Finally, your excel template is created and you can use it whenever you want.
